Brand New ‘Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu’ TV Spot Teases More of Its Story

A new TV spot for The Mandalorian and Grogu has been released and it includes several new pieces of footage from the upcoming movie

A new official image from The Mandalorian and Grogu has been released by USA Today, spotlighting the duo as they prepare for their biggest mission yet on the big screen.

An all-new TV spot for Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu has just been released on social media, packed full of never-before-seen footage from the upcoming big-screen continuation of Disney+’s streaming hit The Mandalorian.

“Gangsters, warlords, monsters… they’re coming for us.”Din Djarin

The promo titled “Coming for Us,” alerted to me via the SFFGazette, comes hot on the heels of new footage that was shared exclusively with Disney shareholders earlier this week and features fresh action sequences and major character moments.

Directed and produced by Jon Favreau, the movie follows Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), the legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter, and his young apprentice Grogu as they are enlisted to help a fledgling New Republic fight against warlords who have come to power shortly after the Empire’s fall.

In this new clip, we get our first live-action look at Marrok, the Anooba creature that accompanies the bounty hunter Embo, along with brief shots of what looks to be some sort of showdown between The Mandalorian and Grogu with the Hutt Twins and four tiny friends who appear to be accompanying the fearless green creature during the course of this adventure, clearly insinuating that he and Djarin aren’t together for parts of the film. We also get an exciting concluding scene of Grogu sensing danger just before Din Djarin and he escape an exploding AT-AT.

Lucasfilm has started to push the marketing for The Mandalorian and Grogu, set to arrive in theaters on May 22nd, slowly revealing more and more of the Mando and Grogu duo to us, attempting to convey that their story isn’t completely written. With each new bit of information and footage, the film is looking more and more like a Star Wars movie in every sense, which is amazing considering how its production has had to deal with major studio changes along its path, especially the change in leadership with longtime Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy stepping down and Dave Filoni taking over.

Although it still remains unclear what went down behind closed doors, word has it that the change came from the top after a period of several missteps with the studio’s direction. It’s now safe to say that it was a PR nightmare for the film studio for some time, which is certainly why they need to go above and beyond to market this film and future projects in order to ease people’s concerns.

The Mandalorian and Grogu officially marks the first theatrical Star Wars release since The Rise of Skywalker closed out the sequel trilogy, and Disney clearly wants to hit the mark and return franchise to its glory days when theaters were packed full of people who simply couldn’t get enough.

One person who has remained positive throughout its entire production is Favearu, despite the studio’s ups and downs. The longtime Star Wars fan recently has expressed his excitement for having the honor of bringing The Mandalorian & Grogu to the big screen, highlighting his love for storytelling within George Lucas’s original universe.

“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created. The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting,” the filmmaker said during a recent interview.

Along with the new promo spot, a few never-before-seen images for the upcoming movie were recently shared online by the Mandoverse Updates X account. These photos offer a fresh new look at the duo’s next adventure showcasing scenes on a snowy planet, various people in classic Stormtrooper gear, and the titular duo both together and apart.

In many ways, this movie feels like a pivotal moment for the Disney era of Star Wars. No matter how you feel about it personally, it’s hard not to acknowledge the negativity that surrounds the film. It feels like it has to overcome hurdles that previous films in the series didn’t.

The good thing, though, is that with every new bit of footage that’s been released, it seems that negativity may finally be fading. Which is of no surprise since the film simply looks fantastic in every way imaginable.
